Get rid of allergens, odors, and unhygienic sleeping areas
You have a cat. You love him. But you sneeze. Constantly. Your eyes itch. Your nose runs. And that smell... that musty, foul odor coming from his bed. You smell it the moment you get home.
You wash his bed. A week later? Same stench. Because that cat bed isn't really washable. The filling retains moisture. Bacteria grow. Allergens build up. And your cat? He sleeps in that unsanitary mess all day long.
About 19% of Dutch people suffer from cat allergies, an increase from 12% in 1996. And do you know where those allergens accumulate? In your bed, your couch, and especially in your cat's bed. Mattresses, blankets, sheets, and throws on your couch trap allergens. And that cat's bed? It's the biggest source of all allergens.
The Problem: Regular Cat Beds Aren't Really Washable
You buy a cat bed. It looks nice. Your cat likes it. But after two weeks? It starts to smell. You try to wash it. But the filling won't go in the washing machine. Or if you do try? It comes out clumped and damaged.
The Hard Truth About Unwashable Cat Beds:
- Allergens are mainly found in your cat's dander and saliva
- Regularly washing cat baskets and cat accessories removes allergens and improves air quality
- Wash bedding at least once every two weeks at a temperature above 40°C
- Solid filling absorbs moisture, urine and bacteria – impossible to clean
- You replace the bed on average 2-3 times a year (€30 each time)
Why a Fully Removable Bed Changes EVERYTHING
This Removable Cat Bed House solves it. Remove the cushion. Remove the cover. Put everything in the washing machine. At 60 degrees. Allergens? Gone. Bacteria? Gone. Odors? Gone. Your cat has a clean, fresh place to sleep. And you? You'll sneeze less and breathe more freely.
Air purifiers with HEPA filters can capture small particles like cat allergens and improve air quality. But tackling the source is better: a washable cat bed.

The Medical Truth About Cat Allergens
The main allergen is Fel d 1, a protein found in cat urine, saliva, and dander. This protein causes cat allergies in 96% of cases.
What happens to unwashed cat beds:
- Dander flakes are so small that they float through the air and reach deep into the airways
- About 82% of allergen particles float through the air, only 20% end up on the interior
- Your cat's saliva (full Fel d 1) dries in the bed and turns into dust
- This dust blows up every time your cat gets in/out of bed
- People suffer from shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, sleep poorly and are tired
With this removable cat bed?
- Wash every 2 weeks at 60°C = allergens killed
- Bacteria cannot survive temperatures above 60°C
- Odors disappear completely
- Your cat sleeps in a hygienically clean bed
- Investment €35 vs €30 x 3 new beds per year = €90

How Do You Wash This Cat Bed? (Simple Routine)
Step 1: Remove all parts (every 2 weeks)
Remove the pillow from the house. Remove the cover from the outside. Pull the filling out of the pillow. Separate everything.
Step 2: In the washing machine at 60°C
Place the cover and cushion (without filling) in the washing machine. Use a mild, unscented detergent (best for your cat). Wash at 60 degrees Celsius.
Step 3: Let it air dry
Hang or lay flat. Do not tumble dry (it shrinks). It will last about 4-6 hours.
Step 4: Refill and replace
Put the filling back in the pillow. Pull the cover over the house. Place the pillow inside. Done!
Step 5: Enjoy a fresh, clean bed
Your cat now has a hygienically clean sleeping spot. And you? You breathe more freely and sneeze less.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How often should I wash this bed?
A: At least every two weeks at a minimum temperature of 40°C, but 60°C is better for allergens. For multiple cats, weekly.
Q: Doesn't cotton shrink at 60 degrees?
A: High-quality cotton shrinks minimally (max. 5%). It may shrink slightly the first time you wear it, but the size will remain stable afterward. Always wash with similar colors.
Q: My cat is 8kg. Will he fit in it?
A: This bed is suitable for cats up to 7 kg. For larger cats, we recommend a larger model (ask us!). Measure your cat curled up—it should fit comfortably.
Q: Won't this break after a lot of washing?
A: Cotton is a naturally strong material. With proper washing (60°C, no dryer, mild detergent), this bed will last 2-3 years with weekly washing.
Q: Doesn't this smell like laundry detergent? Cats don't like strong smells.
A: Use a mild, fragrance-free detergent specifically formulated for sensitive skin. Cats tolerate this better than the chemical scents of regular detergents.
Q: Can I also hand wash this?
A: Yes, but 60°C is difficult for hand washing. For optimal allergen removal, we recommend machine washing at 60°C.
